The Aizenkai Manila Branch was founded September 17, 1986. It sponsors a number of local scholarships and youth programs, for example in the Province of Marinduque, where the Aizen Scholarship Fund now supports 800 students. Over the years, the Aizenkai has developed friendships with numerous Philippine religious and governmental leaders, notably Cardinal Sin, Archbishop of Manila, who has visited Ayabe.
Memorial Service in Manila
On March 12, 1995, the Aizenkai mark-ed a decade of its presence in the Philippines, as well as the 70th anniversary of its found-ing and 50 years since the end of World War II, with a Joint Prayer and Memorial Service for War Victims, held in Manila.
Co-sponsored by Cardinal Sin, the event combined Christian and Oomoto prayers before an Oomoto altar set up at Fort San-tiago, the site of intense fighting during the Second World War.
